We're still on high alert,
but nobody's been hurt,
we’ve been very lucky so far.

Water levels are dropping,
the rain is nearly stopping,
and it's ok to travel by car.

If there are no more rains,
they're going to run the trains,
and maybe later open the port.

News from an amateur reporter,
there not one home under water,
but this is an unconfirmed report.

Winter ski show at Roquefort House
At this years ski show there's lots to see and do,
in one competition they have to build a big igloo.

There are clowns that are very funny,
and shops for you to spend your money.

There's slalom if you've got skill,
for the brave you can ski downhill.

For the graceful try your hand at ice skating,
but it's popular so you may end up waiting.

If you're fit then get on your snowboard,
with so many options you'll never get bored.

If you don't feel energetic you can take a ski lift,
and grab a table in the café and let your life drift.

Tickets are on sale from your local town hall,
it opens Friday with the Wensleydale Winter Ball

Wednesday 22nd January 2008
Around the village of Roquefort,
you can still see wild boar,
but there numbers are getting less and less.
So to protect there habitat,
I'm pleased to announce that,
the Duke's building a sanctuary at his address.

And to protect the wild boar,
we're changing the law,
It'll be illegal to hunt them or trap.
With the protection of a fence,
and this new law and offence,
they’ll hopefully not be wiped off the map.

Thursday 24th January 2008
I'm pleased to be able to report,
that we've had a lot of support,
for the Sanctuary and this new law.
A lot of money has been donated,
some are asking why we waited,
and why haven't we done this before.

We've collected over 4,000 pounds,
which will help build new compounds,
and give the boar somewhere secure.
They can come and go as they please,
roam in the fields, play in the trees,
and can eat, sleep and live like before.

The Wensleydale winter ball
Tonight is the Wensleydale winter ball,
hosted in beautiful old Roquefort hall,
the evening is bound to be a success.
It's a spectacle you just have to see,
with all the money going to charity,
Men in a tuxedo, women in a long dress,

There's food from New Zealand to Africa,
there's every type of drink in 20 foot bar,
and music to suit every kind of taste.
On arrival women will be given flowers,
there'll be dancing until the small hours,
so grab your special one by the waist.
